The only competition you have is yourself, your procrastination, your excuses, your ego. Compete against all that, not other people. When we start to resonate our mind towards that, then we will start seeing positive changes in our lives. Stop imitating others. It’s important to do your best and work hard, but it’s also important to remember that life is not a competition.
I have seen competition everywhere, I have seen it in our schools, children compete to be the smartest in the class, compete for friends or the most liked. We see it in our careers competing to receive the higher pay or the more prestigious job. One of the common place now is social media. Competition seems to even creep its way into families and friendships. We see it as we look at a friend or neighbor and compare ourselves with them, and desire to have more or be better than they are. We compete in many aspects of our lives.
Your life is your own unique journey, it is unlike the the journey any other person before you or after you will ever take. The only person you should try to be better than is who you were yesterday. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t try to be successful, I’m just saying that we will be more successful and happier if our main focus is not to be better than another, but instead to be the best we can be and lift others along the way. The one thing that you have that nobody else has is YOU.
Try to be happy by yourself and with yourself always. Just focus on what is important. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Once you embrace your values, talents and strengths, it neutralizes when others think less of you. You are here to help others, not to compete, but to learn, evolve and excel. We are not here to make divisions. We are here to encompass the world with love and light.
You don’t have to compete with anyone, just be contented with whom God has made you to be and that’s how you feel complete. It is not really about the competition, your biggest challenge in a race is YOURSELF. You’re often racing against time. You’re frequently running everything through your mind. You’re always competing against preconceived ideas. It’s not really the person next to you.
You have to be happy for your friends when they do well because you actually want them to do well, it’s not a competition.
I have a discipline that have served me very well in my personal life, and that have gotten me stronger as I get younger lol, not to compete or compare myself with anyone. I don’t consider myself as a competition to anyone, there’s ample space for everyone here. Live your life, be you, love God, love people and try to better yourself for YOU. Remember LIFE IS NOT A COMPETITION.
